Staples Center

This Tuesday, there will be a public memorial for Michael Jackson at Staples Center and there are only 17,500 tickets being offered to the public. Los Angeles city officials are on the prepare to face massive crowds downtown.

The Assistant Police Chief Earl Paysinger told that around 250,000 to 700,000 people might try to reach Staples Center even though a very wide area around Staples Center will be sealed.

Jan Perry, the city councilwoman encouraged the fans to stay at home and watch the memorial on TV. There will be no ceremony shown on Staples’s giant outdoor TV screen and as well no funeral procession through the city. This advice might give only a little effect. Since the death of Michael Jackson, the fans have flocked to Jackson sites from Los Angeles to his Neverland Ranch in rural Santa Barbara County.

Staples Center is offering 17,500 memorial tickets through Internet lottery. 11,000 tickets are for the arena while 6,500 for the adjacent Nokia Theatre. People who wants the ticket must register themselves at Staplescenter.com. After 6pm Saturday, 8,750 names will be randomly selected to receive 2 tickets each. The result will be known on SUnday.

After the ticketing details were announced on TV, Staplescenter.com become very impossible to be accessed.
