Dominick Dunne, a famous and best-selling author from Hartford, died today, at his house in Manhattan, from bladder cancer at the ripe old age of 83.

Dunne was very known for his work as a correspondent for the Vanity Fair magazine, in which he worked for more than 25 years, covering some of the most celebrated figures and their legal problems.

He was also very famous for being the executive producer of the 1970 film ¨The Boys in the Band,¨ as well as ¨Panic in the Needle Park¨, ¨Play It as it Lays¨ in 1972 and the Elisabeth Taylor film ¨Ash Wednesday¨ in 1973.
