James Traficant

This is for people with a good memory

Remember the guy in the picture above?

That’s James A. Traficant, the Ohio Democrat who was expelled from Congress and arrested after being found guilty of bribery and racketeering, walked out of prison in Minnesota yesterday  after  seven years behind bars.

Traficant, now 68 and still an eccentric former sheriff, did not answer questions as he left the prison alone and rode away in a taxi.

Linda Kovachik, a close friend who has kept in touch with him, said Traficant wanted some quiet time before deciding what he might do next. Many of his supporters say they hope he becomes a radio talk-show personality and hey, who knows?…

Cass Sunstein

The same people that criticized and bullied the resignation of White House adviser Van Jones are now attacking Cass Sunstein, a very famous legal scholar and professor of Harvard Law School. In January 2009, the White House confirmed that Sunstein was next to head the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, which takes care of  the privacy, information, and regulatory policy.

When the media heard about the news Sustein was applauded by many conservatives. But in these recent weeks, Sustein reign has come under heavy fire. One of the most fierce (and blabbermouth)  Sunstein opponents is Glenn Beck. Using his Fox News show as a international communication channel , Beck has accused Sunstein for  “leftist views on animal rights, hunting, gun control, and economic policy”.

Obama School Speech

Well, it looks like President Obama got into another mess recently…

Obama gave a speech to children today at the Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia but it didn’t turned out so well…

The speech draw a lot of the media attention because of some conservatives parents who believe that President Obama is  “bypassing parents and going straight to children to push his agenda” and other others parents were worried about the “proposed lesson plans that were to accompany the speech, including one that asked students to write a letter to President Obama on how they would help him“.

But the real problems is most parents are surprised and upset about the federal government was involving itself in educational curriculum, something that is decided at a state level…

Obama Joker Poster

Few days ago, several posters of President Barack Obama as Joker, the famous Health Ledger style in The Dark Knight movie, have been showing up in Los Angeles and in Atlanta. There is a caption of “Socialism” under each of the photos. However, nobody claim for the credit so we do not know who is behind this idea.

Now the Obama Joker Picture has become hot debate over whether Obama is a socialist or the poster is a racist, and as well whether Obama is being fairly or unfairly caricatured. The Joker was normally labelled as a terrist in The Dark Knight movie, so could this mean the poster is naming Obama as a terrorist?

However it is not known what is the real motive behind the poster until somebody came out to take credit for the poster.

Since yesterday after the Governor of South Carolina Mark Sanford confessed in the press conference about his affair with a woman from Argentina, the search of Maria Belen Chapur is the prime search in USA. Mark Sanford never revealed the name of his mistress yet people are searching for Maria Belen Chapur as his mistress.

The media in South America have revealed the name of his mistress as Maria Belen Chapur, 43 with two teenager sons.Maria Belen Chapur is the most search term before the death of Michael Jackson was announced yesterday in internet.

A photo is realeased from unknown source and claimed it to be Maria Belen Chapur. So, whether she is really Maria Belen Chapur, and whether this is the Maria who has love affair with Mark Sanford, we can not confirm before there is further information about it.

Mark Sanford

The South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford appeared in a press conference on Wednesday 24th June 2009 after his unexplained absence since last Thursday. His absence caused the media storm and the State newspaper published the emails between Mark Sanford and his mistress called by the name of “Maria”.

The Governor can’t help but admit in the conference that he has affair with Maria from Buenos Aires, Argentina. In fact, he lied to his staffs that he was hiking the Appalachian Trail during his misterious absence when he was with his mistress in Buenos Aires.

The both emails dated 10th July 2009 and following are the excerpt of the content:

Two, mutual feelings …. You have a particular grace and calm that I adore. You have a level of sophistication that so fitting with your beauty. I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificent gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the night’s light.

Three and finally, while all the things above are all too true - at the same time we are in a hopelessly - or as you put it impossible - or how about combine and simply say hopelessly impossible situation of love. How in the world this lightening strike snuck up on us I am still not quite sure. As I have said to you before I certainly had a special feeling about you from the first time we met, but these feelings were contained and I genuinely enjoyed our special friendship and the comparing of all too many personal notes…

Lastly I also suspect I feel a little vulnerable because this is ground I have never certainly never covered before - so if you have pearls of wisdom on how we figure all this out please let me know… In the meantime please sleep soundly knowing that despite the best efforts of my head my heart cries out for you, your voice, your body, the touch of your lips, the touch of your finger tips and an even deeper connection to your soul.

This is how romantic the forbidden love could be. What a shame for a public figure like Mark Sanford to have extramarital affair.

What was the respond of the wife of Mark Sanford, Jenny Sanford?

Following is the statement released by Jenny Sanford:

I would like to start by saying I love my husband and I believe I have put forth every effort possible to be the best wife I can be during our almost twenty years of marriage. As well, for the last fifteen years my husband has been fully engaged in public service to the citizens and taxpayers of this state and I have faithfully supported him in those efforts to the best of my ability. I have been and remain proud of his accomplishments and his service to this state.

I personally believe that the greatest legacy I will leave behind in this world is not the job I held on Wall Street, or the campaigns I managed for Mark, or the work I have done as First Lady or even the philanthropic activities in which I have been routinely engaged. Instead, the greatest legacy I will leave in this world is the character of the children I, or we, leave behind. It is for that reason that I deeply regret the recent actions of my husband Mark, and their potential damage to our children.

I believe wholeheartedly in the sanctity, dignity and importance of the institution of marriage. I believe that has been consistently reflected in my actions. When I found out about my husband’s infidelity I worked immediately to first seek reconciliation through forgiveness, and then to work diligently to repair our marriage. We reached a point where I felt it was important to look my sons in the eyes and maintain my dignity, self-respect, and my basic sense of right and wrong. I therefore asked my husband to leave two weeks ago.

This trial separation was agreed to with the goal of ultimately strengthening our marriage. During this short separation it was agreed that Mark would not contact us. I kept this separation quiet out of respect of his public office and reputation, and in hopes of keeping our children from just this type of public exposure. Because of this separation, I did not know where he was in the past week.

I believe enduring love is primarily a commitment and an act of will, and for a marriage to be successful, that commitment must be reciprocal. I believe Mark has earned a chance to resurrect our marriage.

Psalm 127 states that sons are a gift from the Lord and children a reward from Him. I will continue to pour my energy into raising our sons to be honorable young men. I remain willing to forgive Mark completely for his indiscretions and to welcome him back, in time, if he continues to work toward reconciliation with a true spirit of humility and repentance.

This is a very painful time for us and I would humbly request now that members of the media respect the privacy of my boys and me as we struggle together to continue on with our lives and as I seek the wisdom of Solomon, the strength and patience of Job and the grace of God in helping to heal my family.

Jenny Sanford is giving Mark Sanford the second chance and it’s shown that Jenny Sanford is well controlled in this situation. May God’s peace and wisdom be with her.
