Blackberry Outage

In the last hour its been reported that the Blackberry Network Service is down for some user. The user are saying that they are experiencing problems when trying to connect to the Research In Motion/Blackberry service.

Blackberrys are famous among the business people for their compact productivity pack of applications and, lets admit it,  very elegant look and design. So i hope the Network is  reestablished soon, before some mad business guy have a panic/anxiety attack and decides that, since he can access the internet trough his Blackberry, the world is not worth living for anyone (and we all know what happens next…).

Apple Announcement Today

After cutting the prices of most of its iPods (check the site to see them), Apple announced some cool stuff today at its show named “It´s Just Rock And Roll”.

A new iPod Nano with a video camera and a 2.2 screen.

A cheaper iPod Shuffle.

A new 5 Gen iPod Touch (without camera yet).

A new 3.1 Firmware update for the iphone and ipod touch.

A new iTunes version.

Still no word on the iPad (a rumored Apple netbook) but don’t lose hope people Steve Jobs will surely save the best for last :), so have fun with the new gadgets will that wonderful moment comes.

Nanovor

There is a new game coming around the corner this fall, from the company of Smith & Tinker Inc comes The Nanovor.

Nanovor is a futuristic game where kids use tiny robotic bugs that live inside computers to battle one another. Players start with several low tier nanovors and must take part in battles to earn badges and new bots. Like Pokemon, which was the obvious inspiration for Nanovor, combat is turn based with each character having its own set of skills and attacks. Nanovor battles include two to four players with each player commanding a swarm of nanovors.

Also,  the game, which can be played on computers now by downloading it, is targeted at 7 to 12-year-old boys.

This is just hilarious!!! Gmail was only down for 2 hours and people are going nuts on the Internet.

Can you see the news about the Los Angeles Fire??, do you see its in the 21 space??

Aparently Gmail  being down is more important the people burning to dead or losing their homes to a monstrous fire which has more than 3 days and firefighters still can put it down.

Seriously people, Gmail over PEOPLE BURNING TO DEATH?

Shuttle Launch

The NASA delayed the Space Shuttle Discovery launch from Friday´s morning to Wednesday´s night, to give engineers more time to repair and make sure an 8-inch hydrogen valve in the orbiter’s engine compartment will operate normally during fueling.

The problem came up during fueling for a day-late launching Wednesday morning. As the Discovery’s external tank was filled with liquid oxygen and hydrogen rocket fuel, the inboard hydrogen fill-and-drain valve was commanded to close. Data from a position sensor never indicated the valve was, in fact, closed and NASA managers called off the countdown. (i bet you can´t even imagine being in outer space with a broken 8-inch hydrogen valve?…)

So now the official launch time is Wednesday´s night at 11:59 p.m, lets hope this time they get everything fixed…

People Of Walmart

A new website is having news promotion this week, and that is People of Walmart, the website shows a collection of pictures from the most rare to the most hilarious customer they have ever had.

I surfed the site for a few minutes and really, its a total laugh, but i really hope the site doesn’t  get sued so soon since there are a lot of people out there who are just waiting for things like this to make themselves rich, lol, well, enough ranting!!!

cPanel

Today i faced a big problem in backing up my MySQL database though cPanel. It was really a big headache as i have no access to the SSH and phpMyAdmin is not supporting big size database.

After searching here and there i found a solution. The main reasons why i could not do backup through cPanel are following:

1. I have changed my cPanel username and password through a reseller account. And the .my.cnf did not record the change. This mean that, .my.cnf file still consist my old username and password. So this makes me could not download any database via cPanel.

2. I logged in the cPanel through a reseller account, cPanel does not allow reseller to download database backup.

After recognizing the reasons, i have done following:

1. Logged into the cPanel as the user.

2. Edited .my.cnf file. A .my.cnf file is in following format:

[client]
user=yourcpanelusername
pass=”yourcpanelpassword”

A .my.cnf file is located at the user home directory. If you do not find any, you could create one.

3. I went to the cPanel backup manager, and did the backup. It is successful.

I am happy again now after going through so much troubles. Knowledge is gold.

Zhu Zhu Pet

Yes I know how you feel, we old fashioned people who used to own a REAL pet are at loss here, here we got the Zhu Zhu pet (who the heck came up with that name?),  which its just a hamster on batteries that won´t eat, won´t drink and obviously won´t cuddle with your child (or with you)  on the couch while he scratch its head (or its belly, or its back, or whatever body part kids likes to scratch on their ALIVE pets)

But seriously people, these kinds of pets (the artificial ones) are pretty popular with the kids nowadays,  and the Zhu Zhu pet its just a new model which, believe it or not, have 2 play modes, the Nurturing Mode, in which the hamsters coo and purr and the Adventure Mode, in which the hamsters explore their habitat with intelligent audio (just LOL), well i don´t know about you, but i think ill buy one of this just to have a laugh so if you would excuse me…

WOW Cataclysm

It looks like Christmas came early for all WOW fan out there, why?, because we just got word of the (rumored) next major expansion of the game,  World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (cool name don´t you think?), the new expansion, according to WoW.com, will have two new playable races, the Worgen (who looks like a cross betwen a werewolf and a saber toothed tiger)  and the Goblins (who doesn´t what are those things?).

Well, thats all the details we will have until the end of the month when the people at Blizzard will reveal all the juicy details (as if they would have another choice…) so stay tuned.

Nissan LEAF

Japanese Automaker Nissan Motor Co. Ltd has released Nissan LEAF, the world first zero-emission car on 2nd August 2009. LEAF is using lithium-ion battery powered chassis and can travel at least 160km on one full charged battery. It is a medium-size hatchback with 5 seats.

Interior Design of LEAF

Nissan LEAF can be charged up to 80% of its full capacity in just 30 minutes with a quick charger. And charging at home through 200v outlet is estimated to take around 8 hours, so users can just leave the car charged overnight.

LEAF has a top speed of over 140km/h and it is said a cost saving car. Its price is however unknown. Nissan LEAF will be launched in late 2010 in Japan, United States and Europe.
